A year ago I shifted from offering studio newborn photography, to capturing newborns in a more genuine, and authentic way. I shifted my vision as a newborn photographer, because my heart was being pulled to capture brand new babies in a way that felt natural, and unposed. I had just given birth to our second son (who is 8 years younger than our oldest), and I felt so inspired to capture these fleeting moments of our brand new baby, and our new family of four. It made me realize that my favorite photos of my baby were not the perfectly posed, and touched up photos of him looking adorable in a basket. They were the pictures that showed how he curled up his little toes as he slept in my husband’s arms. Or how happy my oldest son looked as he held his baby brother while sitting on our couch, in our living room. These are the timeless and real-life moments that I’ll look back at and want to remember.
