I recently did an exercise that asked me to free write about my biggest goals for my life in ten years from now. If you’ve known me for a while you know I’m a big dreamer, and all about growing as a spiritual being. I’m a pretty big self-help junkie!! So anyways, the first thing I wrote was, “I am wildly happy, and more in love with Jason than ever. We are truly best friends. We are both so fulfilled and passionate about the life we’ve created. We love to spend our days together.” That is my BIG goal, but also my current reality.
This year marks 12 years of togetherness (is that a word?), and I truly feel so lucky to have a marriage that brings me so much happiness and fulfillment. The reason I put my marriage first on my big goal list for this exercise, (and why I’m telling you guys) is because this is how we’ve built such a strong relationship, by putting our marriage first. I always say my own marriage has made me such a fan of marriage in general, and is a big reason why I get so excited about photographing wedding days.
Over the years, we have put in a lot of work to build a relationship with a strong foundation, and I’m pretty proud of us!! The foundation of our relationship has been trust, unconditional love, and supporting each-others dreams. Jason has been my absolute biggest supporter as I’ve built this photography business. He has helped me behind the scenes since the very beginning, and it only feels natural as we move towards him becoming a bigger part of this business.
This is the year that you will see a lot more of my sweet hubby, and I wanted to introduce you guys to him.
Jason is insanely smart. He graduated tenth in his high school class, and went to Penn State. His dad always jokes that he could have been a doctor, and I bet he could have been. But he is more than just book smart, he is an uber talented musician. He is a guitar player, singer and song writer. If you’re in the Buffalo area, you can catch him playing out multiple times a week. He is also a reallllllly good dad, like really good! He does so many of the things that it takes to keep our life running on the home front. He picks up so much of the slack during my busy season (aka all of the laundry!). Jason is a people person. He is super good at remembering names, and is friends with pretty much everybody that he meets. He can always find the music lovers in the crowd, and people love him because of his genuine spirit. I know you guys will too!
We’ve been working together to prepare for him to become a partner in my photography business, and he is a natural. 2019 is the year Jason will join me as my assistant shooter at many of my weddings, and in 2020 he will be my second shooter. This is a really exciting step for my business, and it feels so natural. We are a really good team, and I wouldn’t want anyone else alongside me on a wedding day!
Giant thanks to my friends who have given me the gift of having so many beautiful photos with my family!! Ayres Photography, Becca Sutherland, Beth Insalaco, and Michelle Day. These photos mean the world to me!!
