One of my favorite things about photographing weddings at The Legacy at 18 Mile Creek is how it somehow looks even more beautiful every time I’m there. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph here many times since the venue first opened, and it’s become one of my favorite places to work in Western New York. The grounds are stunning, the light is always perfect, and the staff goes above and beyond to make every wedding day run seamlessly.

Shannon and Ryan’s fall wedding was everything you’d hope for in an October celebration — cozy, colorful, and full of emotion. The golden trees surrounding the property created such a warm backdrop for their ceremony, and the entire day just felt joyful from start to finish.

The morning started in the on-site getting-ready suites, with that mix of excitement and calm that always fills the air before the first look. Shannon wore the most timeless gown with sheer embroidered sleeves, and her soft updo was perfectly romantic for the fall season. She and Ryan shared private vows before the ceremony — one of my favorite parts of the day — and it was such a genuine, emotional moment between them.

Their ceremony took place at the outdoor chapel, surrounded by the trees in peak color. It’s such a peaceful spot to photograph, with natural textures and soft light that frame each moment beautifully.

The Legacy has this way of making every celebration feel connected. Everything flows so easily — the getting-ready spaces, the outdoor portrait spots, and the reception area that feels warm and inviting no matter the time of year. It’s the kind of venue where couples can truly relax and just be present.

For Shannon and Ryan, that presence was felt all day long. Their family and friends were so happy to celebrate with them, and you could feel the energy carry straight into the reception. Every detail was intentional and timeless — the floral design, the signage, the candlelight, the warm fall tones — all perfectly complementing the space.

This was one of the first weddings where my team also offered content creation throughout the day, and I love how it adds another dimension to storytelling. These short, behind-the-scenes clips capture the movement, laughter, and emotions that unfold between photos — the way the dress moved in the breeze, guests cheering after the ceremony, little in-between moments that often go unseen.

For Shannon and Ryan, it gave them a way to relive the day almost instantly. It’s been such a meaningful addition to what we offer, and I love being able to bring that to couples who value storytelling and emotion as much as I do.

Every wedding I photograph at The Legacy at 18 Mile Creek reminds me why this venue holds such a special place in my heart. The property itself is beautiful, but it’s the team, the care, and the warmth that make it truly stand out. Shannon and Ryan’s day was the perfect reflection of that — heartfelt, timeless, and full of life.
